Water management company gains faster ROI and removes internal roadblocks

Publiacqua, a water management company, was running three separate document management platforms for different processes, including IBM Content Foundation, and wanted to consolidate them to reduce costs, lower risk, and improve efficiency. Working with Hyland and the Alfresco platform, the IT team set out to replace its fragmented legacy setup without disrupting users or existing tools like SharePoint and Microsoft Office 365.

Hyland implemented Alfresco as the core of Publiacqua’s digital transformation, using standard tools and an open API to simplify integration and migration. The project moved quickly: infrastructure was ready in five weeks, and about 4 million documents and photos from four repositories were migrated in two months with no custom integration needed. Publiacqua reported faster time to value, fewer internal roadblocks, and avoided the cost and effort of renewing and upgrading IBM Content Foundation.
