A Hyland Case Study
A regional, not-for-profit academic hospital in South Carolina (400+ beds) serving more than 250,000 people faced system sprawl after growth and acquisitions: nine separate Allscripts instances held over 25 million patient documents across 29 practices, and clinicians could only access practice-specific records. With Epic Community Connect covering EMR needs, the hospital needed to consolidate legacy content into a single, accessible repository but had limited internal conversion experience and scarce local resources.
Hyland Global Services delivered a turnkey Data Migration Conversion Services engagement, performing end-to-end ETL, testing, and reconciliation with minimal hospital involvement. The OnBase conversion (about 18 months) achieved a 99.93% import success rate, enabled unified clinician access and Epic integration, reduced internal workload and risk, and provided detailed reports to validate the migration.
