A Hyland Case Study
The City of Cedar Rapids was looking to improve a slow, paper-heavy agenda process that required city clerk staff to make last-minute corrections and manage documents across departments. The city was already using Hyland’s OnBase platform and, with help from Integrated Data Products, added OnBase Agenda Management to bring the process under a central digital system.
Hyland’s solution let departments create and submit agenda items directly in OnBase, with routing for clerk review and approval and easy resubmission for corrections. The results included cutting agenda processing time from 30 hours to 15 hours, saving $3,600 per year in printing and delivery costs, improving security with permission-based access, and eliminating paper in meetings through digital signatures and fully electronic agendas.
