Leaves IBM for the flexibility of OnBase by Hyland

A Midwestern property-and-casualty insurer (475,000 members, 680 employees) was trapped in an inflexible IBM stack—using IBM OnDemand for COLD reports and IBM Content Manager for scanned content—that required over 300,000 Active Directory rules, offered no integration between systems, and forced a costly $500,000 upgrade with indefinite downtime. Frequent re-indexing, custom code for exceptions, and the risk of prolonged outages made continuing with IBM untenable.

The company migrated to OnBase, working with Hyland Services to build a customized conversion and train staff without disrupting business. OnBase delivered seamless integration with line-of-business systems (including Guidewire ClaimCenter, Outlook and RightFax), a simpler workflow and security model that eliminated the Active Directory complexity, and now supports processing of more than 2 million items per day.
