Leading power equipment manufacturer improves on security and governance goals with enterprise paperless solution

Honda France Manufacturing, a 170+ employee maker of power equipment and engines based in Ormes, France, faced slow, paper-based processes across departments that hindered compliance, efficiency and document security. After auditing its workflows, the company sought an enterprise content management system to automate approvals, centralize records and ensure the right people had access to the right documents.

Working with OnBase by Hyland and partner Numerial (implemented November 2007), HFM deployed OnBase across HR, Sales and Accounting and integrated it with SAP to automate invoice matching, approvals and contract lifecycle reminders. The solution cut incentive processing from three months to one (processing up to 1,800 premiums annually), sped accounts payable, centralized HR and contractual records, reclaimed physical storage (about 60% less archive volume), improved dealer communications and expanded to ~120 users across two sites—delivering stronger governance, faster month-end closes and better document control.
