Leading pediatric hospital streamlines clinical workflows and improves the patient experience by digitizing consent forms and signature capture

Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) is a world-leading paediatric tertiary centre in London, handling about 240,000 outpatient and 45,000 inpatient visits a year. Faced with ageing systems at the heart of its digital strategy, GOSH needed a complete electronic patient record (EPR) that included both diagnostic (DICOM) and visible‑light clinical images—and support for complex workflows such as multi‑party e‑consent—to improve clinical quality and free up clinician time.

GOSH implemented Hyland OnBase tightly integrated with its Epic EPR, alongside PACS and a Vendor Neutral Archive, and used an “inch deep, mile wide” rollout to embed content management, imaging and form capabilities across the organisation. The integrated solution reduced time spent searching for records, made the hospital effectively paper‑lite (freeing space and cutting management costs), streamlined workflows and improved productivity and care—so seamlessly that most staff think the functionality is part of the EPR itself.
