Swinburne University needed to replace slow, paper-based business processes, especially for travel requests that could take up to a week to approve. The university chose Hyland’s Alfresco platform, using Activiti to automate key workflows and improve efficiency across finance and administration.

Hyland implemented an automated system that now supports more than 350 users and handles up to 4,000 travel requests a year, with most travel finalized, approved, and booked within a day. Hyland’s solution also automated accounts receivable invoicing, expense reimbursements, and credit card applications, totaling nearly 6,000 transactions annually, while improving visibility and saving significant time.
