A Hyland Case Study
Ohio University, the state's oldest public institution with about 17,000 undergraduates, faced growing paper-based workflows and departmental imaging projects that risked creating information silos. The university needed a single, flexible enterprise content management (ECM) solution that would complement its Oracle E-Business Suite, scale across diverse departments, and remain low‑maintenance so it wouldn’t overburden IT.
OU adopted OnBase as a campus-wide ECM standard—starting in Financial Aid and expanding to 10 departments—allowing users to access documents from within Oracle, automatically match and route admissions and financial records, and keep the student information system in sync. The rollout sped application reviews, eliminated six temporary hires during peak housing processing, reduced redundant tasks, and delivered broad efficiency gains at low incremental cost.
