Case Study: Horry County achieves location-based, mobile access to documents with Hyland OnBase

A Hyland Case Study

Preview of the Horry County Case Study

Horry County connects OnBase and Esri to map its innovative solutions

Horry County, South Carolina (population 300,000+) needed a way to make all location-based documents and data—permits, easements, work orders, contracts, etc.—immediately accessible from its existing Esri GIS. Although staff indexed incoming records by parcel number, there was no integrated method to group and retrieve those files from the office or in the field, limiting efficiency and emergency response.

By implementing Hyland’s OnBase integrated with Esri, the county created a central, automatically categorized document repository that links directly to map parcels. Staff and first responders can tap a parcel on an Esri map (including from iPads or in-car computers) to pull all related records and line-of-business data, enabling paperless workflows (e.g., Legal Residence), faster field operations and improved emergency response while providing a connected platform for ongoing IT innovation.
