Red Canoe Credit Union, a $1.1B community-focused lender in Longview, WA serving 61,000 members, faced overflowing filing cabinets and low digital adoption—DocuSign had seen minimal use before COVID, leaving staff handling paper manually and collections overwhelmed when members requested payment relief during the pandemic.

By integrating DocuSign with their longtime OnBase platform, Red Canoe automated workflows, used configurable templates and OnBase Envelopes, and eliminated separate sign-ons. Electronically signed documents return automatically with status notifications, speeding processing, reducing physical storage, enabling mobile signing, and boosting usage from 1,300 envelopes in 2019 to 12,000 in 2021 with about an 85% completion rate—improving member experience and keeping the credit union competitive.
