Alliant Credit Union, a top‑10 U.S. credit union with $8.9 billion in assets and over 300,000 members, relied on a limited enterprise content management setup that only supported scanning and storage in a few departments. The organization needed a more robust, enterprise‑wide content services platform and configurable workflow tools to automate paper‑based, time‑consuming processes and improve operational efficiency.
In late 2011 Alliant deployed OnBase and integrated it with its Symitar core, converting more than 95% of documentation to electronic form and enabling access without leaving familiar screens. Mission‑critical workflows for HR, accounts payable and legal automated approvals and escalations, cutting AP processing time by about 70% (freeing up FTEs) and reducing monthly fraud report prep from 4–5 hours to under 10 minutes, while enterprise‑wide access and case management improved accuracy, lowered costs and sped member service.
