A Hydrolix Case Study

Preview of the Major Broadcast and Streaming Content Provider Case Study

How Hydrolix provides observability to our clients during peak streaming events

The customer, a major broadcast and streaming content provider, faced the immense challenge of achieving real-time observability during a record-setting live sports event with over 123 million viewers. They needed to monitor a complex ecosystem involving global content delivery networks (CDNs), user devices, and potential piracy threats, all while managing colossal, unpredictable data inflows to ensure a high-quality streaming experience. To address this, they turned to the vendor, Hydrolix, and its streaming observability platform.

Hydrolix implemented its decoupled, stateless platform built on cloud-native Kubernetes, which was scaled independently to handle the massive event. The solution successfully ingested data at a peak rate of 10.8 million rows per second, collecting 53 billion records and storing 5.76 TiB of compressed data. This provided the customer's operations team with end-to-end deliverability intelligence, enabling real-time operational decisions that ensured a seamless viewer experience during one of the largest streaming events of the year.
