Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary cuts cloud backup costs from $1,400 to $100 per month with HYCU

Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (SEBTS) faced steep overage charges and a lack of support for its Nutanix AHV environment from its previous cloud backup vendor following a ransomware attack. Director of IT Wayne Jenks sought a more cost-effective solution that could also expand the institution's off-campus cloud backups for improved disaster recovery.

With help from partner Burwood Group, SEBTS implemented HYCU R-Cloud for backup to Google Cloud Platform. The solution provided significant cost savings, reducing cloud backup costs from $1,400 per month for 6TB to about $100 per month for 10TB. HYCU also delivered expanded backup capabilities, greater flexibility, and impressive support, allowing SEBTS to maintain more backups for longer periods.
