Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust boosts backup success to nearly 100% with HYCU

The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust (SaTH) needed to upgrade its aging VMware environment and improve its data backup and disaster recovery capabilities as part of a broader infrastructure modernization. Following a move to the Nutanix platform, the Trust sought a backup solution that could provide more frequent snapshots without impacting performance and that integrated tightly with its new hyper-converged infrastructure.

The Trust implemented HYCU for backup and disaster recovery. The solution provided easy deployment with auto-discovery, simplified operation, and dramatically faster backup times. As a result, SaTH achieved a nearly 100% backup success rate, improved its Recovery Time Objective (RTO), and could perform hourly SQL server backups with minimal resource use.
