French Construction Equipment Company, a French construction equipment retail and rental business, was hit by a ransomware attack while transitioning from a legacy VMware environment to a new Nutanix HCI platform. The attack encrypted its servers and threatened to disrupt operations unless the company could quickly recover its data and systems.

HYCU provided backup and restore support using its Fast Restore capability and Nutanix snapshot integration, helping the IT team restore VMs and rebuild the environment after the attack. HYCU and the customer’s IT manager had the Nutanix infrastructure back up and running in about five hours, avoiding a costly ransom and restoring operations in time for the work week.
