Opening the Book on Cloud Migration to Google Cloud with help from Incentro and HYCU

Text Book Centre (TBC), East and Central Africa’s largest educational, cultural, and technological content and products distributor, needed to modernize its IT operations amid rising customer expectations, tougher competition, and pandemic-driven pressure. To support a move from an on-premises ERP and infrastructure to SAP on Google Cloud, TBC sought an easy-to-use backup and recovery solution that would work with Google Cloud and SAP HANA. HYCU was selected to help meet those needs.

HYCU, working with Incentro, delivered a cloud-native backup and recovery service for Google Cloud via Google Cloud Platform Marketplace, with native integration for Google Cloud and SAP HANA Backint support. The solution enabled fast, reliable backups and restores, zero-maintenance operations, and reduced storage costs through Google snapshots and incremental forever backups. TBC said backup and recovery time was “next to nothing,” and HYCU helped support growth from 5 TiB toward 8–10 TiB while keeping the environment simple and scalable.
