HYCU provides industrial-strength backup for steel products company

Steel and Pipes, Inc., the largest locally owned industrial products supplier in Puerto Rico, needed a backup and recovery solution that could keep pace with its growing Nutanix environment. With only two IT staff and a business located in hurricane-prone territory, the company needed a simple, reliable way to protect critical data after its legacy backup vendor failed to support Nutanix. HYCU’s purpose-built backup and recovery for Nutanix was selected to meet that need.

HYCU implemented a solution across two Nutanix clusters, protecting 43 TB of storage and 33 TB of backup data across multiple media, including external storage, tape, and cloud services. Steel and Pipes says HYCU made backups easier to manage, improved efficiency by letting them place data in the right target for backup or archive, and provided responsive support that helped them resolve issues faster.
