European transport leader keeps on trucking with help from HYCU

Heisterkamp Transportation Solutions, a European transportation leader with a fleet of more than 750 trucks and 4,500 trailers, needed a better way to protect its growing Nutanix AHV environment after moving from legacy VMware infrastructure. The company wanted a backup and recovery solution that was easy to use, reliable, and cost-effective, especially since its existing backup software would have required a more expensive license to work with Nutanix. HYCU’s Native Backup and Recovery for Nutanix was identified as the right fit.

Working with NEXXT, Heisterkamp selected HYCU to back up its active Nutanix cluster to a passive cluster, with critical VMs backed up every four hours. HYCU delivered fast backups and restores, including one server recovery completed in just 10 seconds versus at least 15 minutes with the previous solution, while also reducing licensing costs and simplifying operations for the small IT team. Heisterkamp reported greater confidence in recovery reliability and is now considering HYCU Protégé for Microsoft Office 365 backup as a service.
