Data Lync, an Australian technology integration services provider for the healthcare and elder care sector, needed a simple, reliable, and cost-effective way to move a client off a legacy VMware environment while keeping sensitive data on-premise to meet Australian data residency laws. Working with HYCU and Nutanix, the company sought a backup and disaster recovery approach that could support a small IT team and scale with the client’s needs.

HYCU provided purpose-built backup and recovery for Nutanix, tightly integrated with Nutanix AHV and able to back up from both source and replica copies. The result was dramatically faster backup and restore times—source backups dropped from hours to minutes, and replica backups took only seconds—without impacting production performance. HYCU also improved reliability and helped Data Lync deliver resilient, always-on DR capabilities at a lower cost than cloud-based alternatives.
