The University of Glasgow and its Urban Big Data Centre (UBDC) required mobility data for transport and neighbourhood research but needed assurance that the data was representative of the population across different demographic areas. Their challenge was to validate the data's representativeness, understand city-region travel patterns, and support practical local-government planning decisions. They partnered with Huq Industries to utilize its mobility data.

Huq Industries provided a live behavioural intelligence platform offering movement trends and catchment analysis. The solution enabled the University to validate the data, which was found to be highly representative. Results included successful origin-destination and neighbourhood analysis, with the outputs being adopted by local government for practical travel planning, establishing a credible evidence base for both research and day-to-day use.
