A Huntress Case Study
Homer Community Consolidated School District 33C, a K-8 public school district in Homer Glen, Illinois, needed to meet new cyber insurance requirements without pulling time or budget away from students. With only five IT staff supporting about 4,500 users across six schools, the district lacked centralized endpoint visibility and monitoring, and its existing Windows Defender Antivirus setup was not enough to satisfy insurers.
Huntress provided Managed EDR as the district’s primary protection across 600 endpoints, along with Managed SIEM and Managed SAT. The solution gave the small IT team 24/7 monitoring, faster remediation, clearer visibility into endpoint activity and Windows Defender status, and predictable per-endpoint billing. With Huntress, the district renewed and increased cyber insurance coverage, reduced day-to-day disruptions from adware, and saw phishing click rates among staff decrease.
