Case Study: J.B. Alberto’s achieves 52% online sales growth and higher profits with HungerRush

A HungerRush Case Study

Preview of the J.B. Alberto Case Study

Eliminating third-party delivery services boost profits, strengthens loyal customer base

J.B. Alberto, a long‑running carryout and delivery pizzeria on Chicago’s north side, was losing profitability and customer data to multiple third‑party delivery platforms. Owner Tony Troiano selected HungerRush and its Restaurant Management System (RMS) with online ordering to address rising commission costs, fragmented customer information, and the need for better control of the ordering experience.

Working with HungerRush, J.B. Alberto rebuilt its website, launched a HungerRush‑powered mobile app and online ordering, and migrated customers off five third‑party services while capturing a customer database (~85,000 emails). The shift drove a 52% increase in online sales within a year, generated 50–80 direct orders per day from a $3 incentive, preserved average tickets of $22–$25, eliminated ~15% commissions, improved margins and operational efficiency, and enabled faster, direct marketing and COVID‑era adjustments.
