STEP Network, one of the largest digital advertising networks in the Nordics, was hit by a wave of malicious redirect attacks that forced its AdOps team to disable more than half of its ads to protect users and preserve site safety. This caused a major revenue hit and tied up three full-time staff members in constant firefighting. To stop the attacks and restore normal operations, STEP Network turned to HUMAN and its Malvertising Defense solution.
HUMAN’s Malvertising Defense provided easy, one-line implementation and maintenance-free, behavior-based protection against both known and novel threats. With the solution in place, STEP Network regained time for its AdOps team, avoided future attack cycles, and expanded from a single website to a network of about 80 publishers. HUMAN’s protection also became a key part of STEP Network’s value proposition, helping improve publisher onboarding and overall network appeal.
