Financial Services Bank on Hughes to Improve Efficiency

Financial Services Bank, a century-old regional lender, faced rising customer expectations for quality of experience and needed far greater bandwidth, availability and scalability than its MPLS network could provide. After a merger added new branches and required diverse transport across dozens of providers, the bank engaged Hughes Network Systems for a Managed SD‑WAN/HughesON solution to support initiatives like guest Wi‑Fi, Office365 and loyalty apps.

Hughes Network Systems deployed a comprehensive Hughes Managed SD‑WAN across 1,600 sites and 3,200 devices in 44 states—using dual HR Branch Gateways, dual‑broadband path diversity, ActiveTechnologies™ and Adaptive Multipath FEC, with a Hughes NOC as backup and HughesON Managed Services handling provisioning and operations. The upgrade delivered measurable results: more than 2.4 million weekly VoIP calls with an average MOS of 4.3 (99.8% over 3.5), optimized in‑branch app performance, faster multi‑ISP rollouts via Zero Touch Provisioning, and significant cost savings from migrating off MPLS.
