Albert Einstein Academy Charter Middle School completes a $10 million renovation with Hughes Marino

Albert Einstein Academy Charter Middle School required the transformation of a four-story former hospital building into a new 42,000-square-foot educational facility. The challenge involved a complete interior demolition and a complex renovation to create classrooms, a library, science labs, and athletic fields, all while adhering to a strict schedule to open in time for the school year. Hughes Marino was engaged to provide comprehensive program, project, and construction management services from the initial due diligence phase.

Hughes Marino managed the entire process, including entitlements, design, permitting, bidding, and construction. Their team performed weekly site visits, coordinated with neighboring entities, and ensured all city conditions were met. The solution resulted in the project being completed on schedule. Hughes Marino also helped the school achieve LEED Silver certification. The renovated building now houses a modern middle school with specialized classrooms and new outdoor athletic spaces.
