A Hudl Case Study

Teach Your Team How to Watch Video

Alton High School’s women’s basketball coach, Bob Rickman, spent 10 to 20 hours each week breaking down game video and scouting opponents, but he needed his players to do more than watch highlights if the team was going to improve. The challenge was getting athletes to watch and learn from all of the video, not just the good plays, and to use it correctly.

Using Hudl, Rickman created playlists, added comments and drawings, and shared clips with players so they could see where they needed to improve. He also taught them how to use stats, filters, and the Reports tab to find their own clips, and he saw clear player improvement after they learned from video.
