A Hudl Case Study
Xavier High School’s girls basketball team faced an uphill challenge last season when a win over high‑scoring Wrightstown was needed to reach the state tournament. Head coach A.C. Clouthier adopted Hudl’s Hudl Assist to streamline scouting and preparation, studying six Wrightstown games to design a matchup zone that neutralized their top scorer and gave his team a tactical edge.
Using Hudl Assist’s tagging and breakdowns, Clouthier was able to plan practices, assign individualized film work, and exploit opponents’ tendencies; the Hawks upset Wrightstown 64–56 (the only team to hold Wrightstown under 60 all season) and advanced through sectional semis and the sectional championship to a state appearance. Coach Clouthier credits Hudl and Hudl Assist with the time savings, improved game planning, and the postseason success the team achieved.
