German Women’s Field Hockey faced a challenge: video review was part of their workflow but players felt it just made meetings longer and weren’t tapping its full value. The coach adopted Hudl’s video and analytics tools to make review more focused and accessible, aiming to change player buy-in and improve game preparation.

Using Hudl, the team built an opponent video database, limited coach-led reviews to 20–30 minutes, and gave players position-specific playlists and analyst-driven video/stats for halftime adjustments. That streamlined, player-friendly Hudl workflow helped the squad prepare more effectively and contributed to winning the bronze medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics, while boosting player comfort and targeted learning.
