Vipshop, a major Chinese eCommerce company, needed a new high-performance IDC network to handle massive Singles Day traffic spikes, Big Data growth, and the limits of its existing architecture. The company wanted non-blocking, highly reliable, scalable, and secure networking, while also converging intranet and extranet access. Huawei was brought in to address these challenges with its Cloud Fabric Data Center Network Solution and CloudEngine Series data center switches.

Huawei implemented an elastic IDC network design with step-by-step migration support, centralized management through eSight NMS, stronger firewall-based security controls, and CloudEngine 12800 Series switches to eliminate congestion and support 10 GE, 40 GE, and 100 GE line-speed forwarding. The result was a more scalable, easier-to-manage network built for the next five to ten years, with non-blocking traffic handling, improved security, zero-touch maintenance, and simpler capacity expansion for Vipshop.
