Guangdong Radio and TV Network Co., Ltd. needed to expand its Video on Demand (VoD) and HD interactive services across Guangdong province while supporting rapid user growth, high reliability, and future network convergence. To meet these challenges, the company turned to Huawei and its CloudEngine 12800 series (CE12800) data center switches.

Huawei implemented the CE12800 to build a high-performance, dual-plane HD VoD/IP MAN network with high-density 40GE/100GE connectivity, large buffering, and low latency. The solution passed strict reliability tests, including continued service operation even when one switch was faulty, and supported 3,000 concurrent VoD users per 10GE interface; it also delivered line-speed forwarding, reduced jitter, and created headroom for future growth over the next 5 to 10 years.
