Video Conferencing Brings Bankers Face-to-Face

Bank of Communications (BoCom) needed a way to cut travel costs and improve communication across its extensive domestic and overseas branch network. To address this, Huawei provided a videoconferencing solution built on BoCom’s existing IP data network, enabling remote meetings, training, and staff collaboration across headquarters and branch locations.

Huawei implemented a three-level videoconferencing architecture with a ViewPoint 8620 MCU at headquarters, 28 ViewPoint 8630 MCUs at province-level and overseas branches, and 150 video terminals across the network. The system improved meeting efficiency, supported training and knowledge sharing, and helped BoCom reduce travel-related operating costs while speeding decision-making and strengthening management coordination.
