Use Video Conferencing-as-a-Service and Save

EDP, a global energy company based in Portugal, needed to connect 12,000 employees across a mix of legacy videoconferencing systems acquired through expansion, while supporting multiple devices, multiple languages, and tight integration with Microsoft Skype for Business and Office 365. The company wanted a flexible Video Conferencing-as-a-Service (VCaaS) model that would let staff join meetings from boardrooms, tablets, and mobile devices without being constrained by location or equipment.

Huawei, working with integration partner Tecnocom, delivered a VCaaS solution that replaced and unified EDP’s videoconferencing environment across 255 rooms worldwide, while supporting legacy interoperability, recording, transcoding, and mobile access. The new setup moved EDP from CAPEX to OPEX, lowered costs, and gave the company 24/7 network monitoring through Tecnocom’s NOC, improving service visibility and scalability for meetings, webinars, and remote collaboration.
