Case Study: China Network Television (CNTV) achieves greater broadcast network capacity and security with Huawei

Upgrading a National TV Broadcast Platform

China Network Television (CNTV), a national web-based TV broadcaster in China, needed to upgrade its broadcast control center data network to support IPTV services across 12 provinces. The existing network struggled with scalability, reliability, and security as router connections and service demands grew, and it relied on a single-core design and limited ACL-based protection.

Huawei designed and implemented a hierarchical data network for CNTV using NE40E-X high-end routers, redundant devices and links, IP FRR fast protection switching, HQoS, and multiple functional areas with firewalls in bypass mode. Huawei’s solution improved reliability and security, expanded access bandwidth by more than three times, and increased broadcast platform capacity while helping protect national IPTV program transmission.
