University Explores Quantum Info with Big Data

Tsinghua University, through its Institute for Interdisciplinary Information Sciences, wanted to build a Hadoop Big Data research platform to support advanced computer science work such as quantum information. To do so, the university needed a Hadoop-ready hardware environment with high computing and I/O performance, large storage capacity, low power consumption, and easier management for a distributed cluster. Huawei provided the server platform for evaluation, based on Huawei RH2288 V2 servers.

Huawei’s RH2288 V2 solution, along with a customized distributed equipment room design, was selected after testing showed it met the university’s performance and storage needs. The deployment delivered a sophisticated Hadoop Big Data research platform with centralized management, simplified O&M, lower cooling costs, and a scale-out architecture for future growth. Huawei also tailored the room setup to fit the building’s space and power restrictions, helping Tsinghua University implement the system rapidly.
