A Huawei Case Study
Chongqing Rail Transit (CRT) needed a future-ready, stable communications foundation to support the rapid expansion of its metro network, including lines 1, 2, 3, and 6. With a complex system that had to handle voice, data, video, scheduling, security, and operational management, CRT required a reliable and scalable network architecture.
Huawei implemented an integrated communication and monitoring network for CRT’s metro lines using a flat architecture with core, aggregation, access, server, and storage layers. The solution enabled unified management through the Chongqing Transport Command Center, improved interoperability across subsystems, and strengthened security and reliability; the case study also notes that major devices had been operating successfully on metro or light rail lines for at least a year.
