Londonderry Port was facing rapidly growing volumes of electronic data, along with increasing payment and maintenance transactions, and its existing IT infrastructure could no longer keep up. To address these challenges, the port worked with Huawei and its IT partner Loughtec to find a scalable, high-performance storage solution that would meet both immediate and future needs.

Huawei delivered an OceanStor S2600 managed storage system with 2 TB of storage, paired with an HP ML350 server running VMware Essentials and multiple business applications. The new setup improved performance, future-proofed the port’s storage environment, and reduced server running costs by more than £2,000 per year.
