A Huawei Case Study
Tianjin Government was building a Smart City and a citywide wireless government communications network to support public services such as healthcare, transportation, public security, and emergency response. The main challenges were covering a large metro area with more than 15 million people, supporting multiple services and device types, and deploying TD-LTE technology in a market with limited terminal and chipset maturity, especially in the 1.4 GHz band.
Huawei implemented a TD-LTE wireless government network solution with broadband trunking, video surveillance backhaul, and emergency communications capabilities. Huawei also supplied 1.4G TD-LTE chipsets and leveraged its end-to-end LTE experience to speed deployment and reduce costs. The result was a unified dispatch platform for routine and emergency services, improved collaboration and response efficiency, support for up to 256 groups and 1,024 concurrent users, and high-speed data transmission of up to 300 Mbit/s uplink and 450 Mbit/s downlink.
