Shanghai Unicom, a major communications service provider in Shanghai, needed a better way to support rapidly changing business demands, high telecom reliability requirements, and costly, inefficient IT operations. Its fixed IT infrastructure led to slow service response, low resource utilization, and time-consuming PC and system maintenance across internal teams.

Huawei provided Shanghai Unicom with the FusionCloud Desktop Solution and related cloud computing hardware/software to build a unified cloud data center for internal and external users. The new platform improved resource utilization and lowered construction costs, reduced maintenance time from days to minutes, and cut service deployment time from three months to three days; it also enabled Shanghai Unicom to launch cloud desktop, cloud host, and cloud storage services and attract external customers such as Ping An Insurance and Crystal CG.
