Case Study: Guangdong Road Management Bureau improves road safety and emergency response with Huawei video surveillance solution

A Huawei Case Study

Preview of the Guangdong Road Management Bureau Case Study

Safer Roads in Guangdong Province

Guangdong Road Management Bureau, responsible for managing one of China’s most extensive highway networks in Guangdong Province, needed a better way to inspect roads and respond to incidents. Traditional camera-based inspections were too limited for tracking unsafe driving, roadside hazards, and severe weather, while vital areas such as tunnels, bridges, and hillsides were difficult to monitor in real time.

Huawei implemented an integrated video surveillance solution featuring digital vehicle-mounted inspection, wind and solar power, 3G video surveillance, and on-site weather data collection on an open platform with standard protocols. The system improved emergency response and real-time visibility for critical road links, helped Qingyuan upgrade law enforcement methods, reduced false alarms, and improved work efficiency by approximately 20% to 30%.
