Case Study: Shenshuo Railway improves IT efficiency and scalability with Huawei cloud data center servers

A Huawei Case Study

Preview of the Shenshuo Railway Case Study

Riding the Rails with a Cloud Data Center

Shenshuo Railway, a major heavy-load electrified railway and coal transport channel in China, was struggling with aging IT infrastructure, unstable service performance, and slow application response as transport volumes and data demands grew. The company also needed a new platform to support upcoming systems such as EAM, TDCS, GIS, and train status analysis, while avoiding further strain on server room space, power, cooling, and operations. Huawei was brought in to help modernize the environment.

Huawei implemented a new application platform based on E6000 blade servers, using virtualization and high-availability architecture to consolidate and better manage IT resources. The deployment included three blade server subracks, with FC SAN and clustering for key database workloads and virtualized support for services like JMS, DHCP, FTP, DNS, and TMIS. The result was a scalable, easier-to-manage infrastructure that reduced pressure on space, power, cooling, and O&M, while improving operational efficiency and enabling Shenshuo Railway to expand services on demand.
