A Huawei Case Study
Bank of China, one of China’s top four state-owned commercial banks with a major international presence across Europe, faced rising trade finance and cross-border settlement volumes. As its European branches grew, the bank’s IT environment became increasingly complex, with servers, storage, and networking gear from multiple vendors, high management overhead, and costly midrange systems for non-core transaction workloads.
Huawei addressed these challenges by deploying RH2285 V2 2-socket rack servers and eSight management software in BoC branches in Poland, Sweden, and Luxembourg. The solution enabled remote management of mixed-vendor IT assets, added 1+1 redundancy for reliability, and reduced maintenance time, O&M costs, and overall TCO; Bank of China said the Huawei RH2285 V2 servers were highly cost-effective and reliable, and it plans to use Huawei servers for additional file and database server needs.
