Chongqing Rail Transit (CRT) needed a reliable way to support CCTV coverage and computing/storage for Line 6 Phase I, which included more than 1,000 analog cameras and 100 HD IP cameras across 16 stations and one depot. The existing approach struggled with storage capacity, bandwidth, and real-time playback requirements, while also creating high maintenance costs because IT staff were located far from the site. Huawei provided the servers and storage needed to handle the rail line’s surveillance demands.

Huawei implemented RH2285 servers and S2600T unified IP SAN storage to create an end-to-end computing and storage infrastructure for CRT’s CCTV system. The solution delivered high-bandwidth video handling, massive scalable storage, and redundant components for 24x7 reliability, enabling smooth HD video recording and playback without blurred or choppy footage. Huawei’s platform also improved scalability for future expansion and reduced the equipment room footprint.
