P&V Elektrotechniek Eliminates Delays From Its Projects

P&V Elektrotechniek, the largest independent electronic panel builder in Belgium, faced significant project delays due to an outdated IT infrastructure. Their engineering team experienced slow response times of up to 20 seconds when accessing data, which was unacceptable for plans containing hundreds of components. To support its evolution towards Industry 4.0, the company needed a redundant and faster network, leading them to partner with vendor Huawei.

Huawei implemented a solution using its S5700 series gigabit enterprise switches and a new data centre with two server rooms in an active/active configuration. This provided the necessary speed and redundancy, eliminating all system delays and achieving uptime close to 100%. The measurable impact was the removal of an average project delay of one and a half hours. According to P&V's ICT Manager, the Huawei solution requires limited management, allowing the IT department to focus more on business and user needs.
