Case Study: Petrobras achieves flexible, cost-efficient mobile data centers with Huawei

A Huawei Case Study

Preview of the Petrobras Case Study

Petrobras Mobile Data Centers

Petrobras Distribuidora, a subsidiary of Petroleo Brasileiro SA, needed a way to reduce the cost and latency of its centralized data center model while keeping mission-critical applications protected. The company wanted to decentralize non-mission-critical workloads closer to users and refinery sites, but needed a solution that could meet strict data center standards and remain mobile and secure in challenging environments. Huawei provided the containerized data center platform used in the project.

Huawei implemented complete containerized mobile data centers with integrated UPS, generator, fire suppression, precision cooling, monitoring, video surveillance, and access control, all centrally managed by Petrobras. The new setup allowed Petrobras to place non-mission-critical applications in flexible, cost-effective local facilities while keeping critical systems centralized and replicated. The solution met Petrobras standards, improved mobility and security, and delivered strong efficiency with a PUE below 1.25, cutting electricity costs by 40 percent.
