OrgVDC Lets Organizations Work Independently

The Science and Information Bureau of Guangzhou partnered with Huawei to support the Smart Guangzhou project, aiming to replace a patchwork of independently built government systems with a unified cloud platform. The bureau faced long 3-to-6-month service rollout cycles, high infrastructure and maintenance costs, uneven service levels, and security and stability concerns across more than 200 upcoming IT projects.

Huawei implemented an Organization Virtual Data Center (OrgVDC) solution for the eGovernment extranet, giving departments logically separated, on-demand IaaS resources along with unified management, O&M, and security controls. The new cloud platform shortened service rollout time from 90 days to one week, cut total resource costs by 40%, reduced O&M costs by 30%, and enabled more than 200 secure government services.
