A Huawei Case Study
OmniPay, a Dublin-based global payment processing provider for acquiring banks, needed a fast and reliable way to deploy and quickly scrub servers for short-term use. After testing VMware ESX on x86 servers, the company worked with Origina to find a more permanent, scalable virtual server platform, ultimately turning to Huawei storage to support the environment.
Huawei, via its OceanStor S2600 storage system alongside IBM X3850 X5 servers, delivered a scalable solution with unified file and block storage, dual controllers, iSCSI/FC support, and replication options. The new setup helped OmniPay deploy servers faster, reduced procurement and engineering setup time, and enabled expansion to at least six active virtual servers, with expected savings of around three times the virtual solution cost as legacy systems are replaced.
