OceanStor System Helps Train Australian Doctors

General Practice Training Queensland (GPTQ), a public not-for-profit training organization for GP doctors in Queensland, Australia, needed to cope with rapidly growing medical and training data while improving storage management, scalability, data security, and operating costs. Its legacy systems could not easily scale, lacked unified management across sites, and did not provide disaster recovery for branch-site data.

Huawei implemented an OceanStor storage solution featuring an OceanStor 18500 at the primary site and two OceanStor S5500T systems at branch sites, managed centrally through DeviceManager. Huawei enabled asynchronous disaster recovery, centralized administration, and strong scalability, helping GPTQ support around 60,000 healthcare personnel, meet about five years of growth needs, lower O&M and CAPEX costs, and improve data protection with incident-free operation since deployment.
