Wo Store, China Unicom’s online mobile app distribution platform, was straining under rapid growth in users and data requests, exposing performance and reliability issues in its aging storage infrastructure. The company needed a scalable, cost-effective storage environment that could support SQL and Oracle backends, virtualization, remote disaster recovery, and secure migration with zero data loss. Huawei’s OceanStor storage was selected to address these challenges.

Huawei implemented a centralized data management and disaster recovery solution based on the OceanStor 18500 Enterprise Storage System, paired with two midrange S5600T systems. The solution improved peak-time download speeds by 6 to 7 times, boosted data access performance by 400%, and enabled the secure migration of more than 200 TB of data without loss or disruption. Huawei also helped Wo Store achieve 100% protection of critical data, 10% savings in capital expenses, and 35% lower operating expenses.
