OceanStor Clears the Path to HD Programming
China Central Television (CCTV), one of China’s leading media organizations, needed to upgrade its post-production environment to support full HD broadcasting. Its existing storage and network infrastructure could not deliver the bandwidth, capacity, reliability, or interoperability required for real-time HD editing, rendering, and live studio workflows across dozens of editing stations and mixed operating systems.
Huawei implemented the OceanStor 9000 storage platform to centralize file-based HD production, providing over 560 TB of capacity, more than 2.4 GB/s throughput, and an open architecture for Windows, Linux, Mac, and other systems. The solution improved production and broadcasting efficiency, eliminated single points of failure through distributed protection, and is expandable to 288 nodes, 60 PB, and 400 GB/s, while reducing TCO by 30% over three to five years.
