Karamay Government worked with Huawei to support its Safe City and Digital Karamay initiatives by consolidating scattered IT resources into a centralized cloud environment. The city needed a more reliable video surveillance platform that could handle 4K UHD cameras, cloud computing, big data, intelligent video analysis, and better integration across systems from multiple vendors.

Huawei implemented an OceanStor 9000 distributed big data storage solution with 17 PB capacity for cloud video storage and disaster recovery. The new platform improved data protection, eliminated information silos, enabled centralized resource scheduling, and supported advanced analytics and concurrent video access; Huawei reported that emergency handling efficiency increased by 50% and up to 7,000 hotspot videos could be accessed concurrently.
